Coffee, Alone.
Series. Acrylic on wood panel
10in x 10in – $70
8in x 8 in – $50
This series is a look at the beauty and loneliness of enjoying a coffee, and exploring the idea of taking a worshipped beverage that is often shared with others and isolating it. Or essentially, the observance and peace of drinking coffee alone.
And I’ll stay till the morning
Til we’ve talked it all through
Til the beat of my heart is in sync with you —
We’ll sit in the silence or in tangible prayer
in the quiet or laughter —
whatever prevails.
A little excerpt from my journal, but I’ve been thinking about the space/correlation/dance between hospitality and loneliness. In coffee with or without another. That place where you’re fine with or without a face across the table. It’s more hopeful than it sounds. But still painted in blue.
